Micro Moments (and Mobile!)
If you’re involved in paid search you’ll no doubt be aware of ‘micro moments’, the art of being in front of the consumer at the moments that matter most to them, regardless of device.
As a recent Google blog post puts it “the I-want-to-know, I-want-to-go, I-want-to-do, and I-want-to-buy moments.”
And according to a Google/Ipsos report – “Consumers in the Micro-Moment’ (March 2015) consumers, unsurprisingly, increasingly turn to their smartphones.
The research shows that 91% of smartphone users look up information on their smartphones while in the middle of a task and 82% consult their phones while they’re standing in a store deciding which product to buy.
We’ve all done that, right?!
And the research into online consumers reveals that 69% agree that the quality, timing, or relevance of a company’s message influences their perception of a brand.
And we know that Google is perfectly placed to connect your business with these consumers through the Search network, the Display network, Gmail, YouTube, and across 3rd party sites on the Google platform. Tools we use everyday for our clients.
Well now Google have brought a new product to AdWords to help reach out to your most valuable customers during these micro-moments!
Customer Match will help businesses to reach these customers across Search, Gmail and YouTube by allowing you to upload a list of email addresses which can then be matched to signed-in users on Google. These matched users are then anonymised so it’s secure and privacy-safe.
We can then build campaigns and highly relevant ads specifically designed to reach these audiences.
When targeting on Gmail and YouTube we can also create ‘similar audiences’ – consumers who are more likely to be interested in your products or services.
Both features are being rolled out worldwide from November 2015
